Black Hilt Rapier
Black Hilt RapierThe final form of the Swept Hilt Rapier evolved from the practice of hooking the forefinger over the quillon and around the ricasso for better blade control, the various branches of the guard being designed to protect different parts of the hand in this position.

Bone Handled Rapier
Bone Handled RapierThis north European rapier, dating from about 1625 is just the kind of weapon many duelists would have carried on the field of honor. The blade is narrow with the traditional diamond cross-section. The steel bars provide a very attractive hilt design and the bone grip is wrapped with twisted wire borders by straight wire. The pommel counterbalances the blade superbly, giving it a feeling of speed and lightness. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts from high carbon steel. Scabbard included.

Brass Swept Hilt Rapier
Brass Swept Hilt RapierThe swept hilt rapier was the civilian weapon of choice for close to 200 years, from the early 16th century to the early 18th. On our replica, nine brass bars, all at least 1/8"" thick, swirl and curve to make the dazzling cage that protects the hand from being cut. Also, the Swept-Hilt often caught an opponent's blade, opening him up to a fatal stab. The tough high carbon steel blade is made by Windlass Steelcrafts in India. 93/8"" long, brass quillon. Steel wire-wrapped, wooden grip. Grooved brass pommel. Includes leather scabbard.

Classical Rapier
Classical RapierExceptional not only for its exquisite beauty, this rapier is reproduced from an original in the collection of Hank Reinhardt. This sword shows off one of the more graceful and sublime designs from a period when no two swords were made exactly alike. (There were often tremendous differences between rapiers because of varying amounts of skill of the blade maker, the hilt maker, and the cutler who assembled them.)
